ARTICLE Determination of Mercury Exposure Among Dentists
ABSTRACT Aim: Mercury is a highly toxic heavy metal found in nature which evaporates at room temperature. Toxicological and ecological damages of mercury due to amalgam fillings and mercury related equipment used in dentistry are reported. This study aims to determine whether dentists are exposed to mercury due to dental practices and to discuss the measures to be taken via occupational health and safety together with environmental control practices to avoid exposure to mercury.
