Psychosocial Effects of Type 1 Diabetes on A Young Individual: A Case Report

Diabetes is an endocrine and metabolic chronic disease characterized by absolute or partial failure of pancreatic insulin secretion. Being diagnosed with diabetes at a young age paved the way for individuals to experience some physical, psychological and social problems. As a result of the diabetes screening carried out at a foundation university to raise awareness on 14 November World Diabetes Day, it was determined that a student's glucose level was well above the normal limits and he was referred to the endocrinology clinic.

Risk Factors for Antibiotic Resistance and Mortality in Nosocomial Gram-negative Bloodstream Infections: A Retrospective Study

Aim: The current increase in the rate of nosocomial infection caused by the drug-resistant and multi-drug resistant (MDR) Gram-negative bacteria rendered the current treatment options insufficient. In this case-control study, we aimed to determine the risk factors for drug-re- sistance, multi-drug resistance and mortality in nosocomial blood- stream infections (NBSIs).

Investigation of the Effects of Nursing Students’ Critical Thinking Skills on Decision Making, Empathic Tendency and Skills

Aim: Thought is a process that requires ability based on intellectual process. Critical thinking is a meta-thinking skill that allows us to reflect on thought. Critical thinking in this context in nursing; management, decision making, clinical judgment, professional success, and effective communication. Nurses need to use their critical thinking skills at every stage of the decision-making process in the clinical setting. Courses based on critical thinking in the nursing education process can help nurses make rational decisions and approach the patients they care for more empathetically. The aim of the study is to indicate the relationship between nursing students' critical thinking skills, empathy and decision making skills.

Cluster Analysis and Audiogram Configurations in Sensorineural Hearing Loss

Aim: This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of audiogram configurations in adult patients with sensorineural hearing loss reporting hearing problems by cluster analysis. Materials and Methods: Our study included 97 adult patients who applied to the ENT outpatient clinic of a private hospital with hearing loss and had sensorineural hearing loss determined by pure tone audiometry. The patients' right ear air conduction thresholds were taken as the basis and audiological data were measured by the same device and the same audiometrist. Configuration types were categorized according to pure-tone hearing thresholds.

TRAIL and Diabetes

Diabetes, which is characterized by increased blood glucose levels, occurs as a result of the dysfunction in the pancreas, and result in resistance to insulin activity or reduced insulin production. Diabetes is examined in two groups as Type-I and Type-II. Type-I diabetes develops as a result of insufficient insulin hormone released from the beta-cells in the pancreas.

Nutrition in Bodybuilding Athletes with Current Data

The popularity of bodybuilding sports is increasing day by day, but when we look at the literature, it is seen that the number of evidence-based nutrition recommendations is quite low. In this study, current evidence-based nutritional recommendations for bodybuilding athletes in the literature were compiled.

Cochlear Implant Diagnostic Tests and Health Implementation Notification

Hearing loss may occur in the prelingual period as well as in the perilingual or postlingual period. Hearing loss, especially in the prelingual and perilingual periods, seriously affects the speech and language development of children, causing significant negative effects on their social-cognitive development and academic success.
