ARTICLE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BARIATRIC SURGERY AND PROBLEMATIC EATING BEHAVIOR
ABSTRACT Bariatric surgery is a highly effective treatment for obesity. However, problematic eating behaviors can occur both before and after surgery. This review examines the connection between bariatric surgery and problematic eating behaviors such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and emotional eating. It also explores how these behaviors develop and are managed in the postoperative period. The review aims to evaluate the prevalence, causes, and impact of problematic eating behaviors in patients who have had bariatric surgery.
