ARTICLE Evaluation of the Effect of Direct Connection Feature of Hearing Aids on Speech Comprehension
ABSTRACT Aim: The aim of this study is to investigate the benefit of the direct connection feature of unilateral or bilateral hearing aids on auditory comprehension skills in noisy environments. Materials and Methods: Twenty individuals with moderate sensorineural hearing loss, aged 18-85 years, without any cognitive, sensory or neurological problems, participated in the study. Speech discrimination scores of individuals with hearing loss exposed to a noisy environment were compared according to the variable of using unilateral or bilateral hearing aids with direct connection feature.
