ARTICLE Overview of the Physical and Psychological Effects of Personal Protective Equipment Use on Healthcare Professionals During the Pandemic Period
ABSTRACT This study; It isa compilation study to emphasize the physical and psychological effects of the increased use of personal protective equipment on health workers due to the pandemic in health services during the COVID-19 pandemic period. It is supported by studies conducted in our country and the world that health workers who work intensively during the pandemic period experience physical and psychological effects due to the use of personal protective equipment for a long time. The aim of our study is to draw attention to the negative effects of the increased use of personal protective equipment on the physical and psychological health of healthcare professionals during the ongoing difficult pandemic process, to remind healthcare professionals that there is a risk of deterioration in their own health while caring for their patients, and to contribute to the development of support interventions that can minimize the risk.
