ARTICLE The Effect of COHb, Troponin I and Lactate Levels on Prognosis in Patients With Carbon Monoxide Poisoning Followed in the Intensive Care Unit
ABSTRACT
Purpose: Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, and non-irritating gas and is formed as a result of insufficient combustion of carbon-based fuels. Carbon monoxide poisoning is an important public health problem and accounts for 8-34% of all poisoning cases. This study aims to compare the demographic, clinical, and treatment characteristics of the patients we follow up with carbon monoxide poisoning in the intensive care unit and to determine the relationship between the COHb, troponin I, and lactate levels of the patients and the clinical course and results.
