Transforming Orthopedic Decision-Making and Patient Care Through Artificial Intelligence

This editorial letter discusses the expanding role of artificial intelligence (AI) in orthopedic clinical practice, focusing on its applications in diagnostic imaging, surgical planning, and regenerative medicine. While AI demonstrates comparable accuracy to clinicians in fracture detection and shows promise in preoperative modeling, significant challenges—such as data bias, ethical concerns, and limited clinical adoption—remain. The authors advocate for structured integration of AI into orthopedic workflows, supported by multicenter validation, clinician education, and ethical oversight.

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BARIATRIC SURGERY AND PROBLEMATIC EATING BEHAVIOR

Bariatric surgery is a highly effective treatment for obesity. However, problematic eating behaviors can occur both before and after surgery. This review examines the connection between bariatric surgery and problematic eating behaviors such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and emotional eating. It also explores how these behaviors develop and are managed in the postoperative period. The review aims to evaluate the prevalence, causes, and impact of problematic eating behaviors in patients who have had bariatric surgery.
